Valley Tennis Ladder

How it works!

Format:

  • Matches are to be the best two out of three sets. Tie breakers are to be played if tied at six games each.

  • You may challenge up two spots from your spot on ladder.

  • The challenger is responsible for providing a new can of balls for the match.

  • Matches may be played on any court that both players can agree to meet.

  • Players will need to defend their position or issue a challenge at least once every thirty days.

  • If a legitimate challenge is refused or not accepted within ten (10) days, without good reason, then the player being challenged will be consider in default and the challenged person will be moved to the position immediately below the challenging player.

  • A player can only take one challenge at a time; so a player cannot challenge or be challenged until they have completed scheduled matches.

  • It will be up to players to arrange matches and report scores to the website.

  • You may play as often as the two parties agree.

  • This is an open ladder, no USTA ranking will be observed or required.

  • USTA rules will apply.

  • Players beginning after start date are added to the bottom of ladder.

Scoring:
  • Winning challengers take challenged position on the ladder and the losing player moves down one rung on the ladder (including defaults).

  • If a challenger loses, both remain at their current positions.

Results:
  • All scores must be reported ASAP. Results not reported within 7 day of the completion of the match may not be accepted.
